Wilderness First Aid + CPR
October 3-4th @ The Venture Out Project's Vermont Basecamp
Prepared to Care: WFA Weekend @Â TVOP Basecamp
Join us this October for a very special community weekend and Wilderness First Aid + CPR hosted at The Venture Out Project's Basecamp at Beaver Falls in Halifax, Vermont.
Spend two full days learning the principles of Wilderness First Aid in a warm, inviting, queer community space on our sprawling forty acres of rolling meadows, coniferous forest, and gorgeous pine-furnished cabins.
Metabolize all that you’ve learned in the evening with cozy fireside chats, rejuvenating hot tub soaks, arts and crafts, hot cocoa and s’mores, some meditative alone time, or a delightful mix. This choose-your-own-adventure community overnight is for any human who is looking to get certified in essential wilderness medicine skills with an added opportunity to unwind and connect with each other and the land at their own pace.
Our highly immersive WFA Course combines experiential learning games, realistic scenarios, lectures rich with meaningful stories, and opportunity for Q&A. The Wild Med WFA curriculum is inclusive and trauma-informed, focusing on how to offer effective, compassionate treatment for any body and every body.
This certification training is intended for the LGBTQ+ community, is open to allies, and will be led by Wild Med’s queer + trans instructors. Your group will be hosted by TVOP’s queer + trans facilitators for the duration of this weekend stay at our Basecamp.
