Red Cross Lifeguard Training & Recertification

The American Red Cross Lifeguarding program gives participants the knowledge and skills needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies.

Course Content

The course includes the latest science in First Aid, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, and the latest lifeguarding rescue skills and safety protocols. Upon successful completion of this class participants receive Red Cross certifications in Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR/AED.

Prerequisites

  • 15 years old
  • Swim 500 yards continuously
  • Starting in the water, swim 20 yards using front crawl or breaststroke, surface dive 7-10 feet, retrieve a 10-pound object, return to the surface, swim 20 yards back to the starting point with the object and exit the water without using a ladder or steps, within 1 minute, 40 seconds
  • Tread water continuously for 2 minutes without using hands

Recertification

The recertification course is designed to refresh the skills of CURRENTLY certified Lifeguards. All prerequisites listed above apply to those seeking recertification. Length of course depends upon number of participants. Please contact us if you need to be recertified.
